While storefront crashes are probably one of the last ones to come to mind when you think of an accident, you’d be surprised to learn that they are unfortunately common in the state of Pennsylvania. Storefront Crashes Are More Common Than You Think The driver is said to have suffered a medical emergency at the time of the accident. The driver of that vehicle, now, 59-year old, Kevin Kiley, jumped the curb moments before crashing into the BoRic’s Hair Care salon. Not the First Time This Happenedīack in 2018, eight people were injured after a vehicle crashed into the storefront of a hair salon in Brentwood Towne Square. All three women involved in the crash were neighbors and lived in close proximity to the CoGo’s convenience store. While the reason for the crash is still under investigation, Middlesex Township Officer Conrad Pfeifer said that alcohol is believed to have contributed to the accident.
The local police department stated that the car was entirely inside the store when found. The accident occurred shortly after midnight on Sunday, May 17th. The Middlesex Township police department said that the car was speeding down Dwellington Drive and went airborne before crashing into CoGo’s front window, according to eyewitness reports. The driver of the vehicle was taken to UPMC Mercy with moderate injuries. Young was sitting in the front seat at the time of the incident, while Collins was a backseat passenger. Another passenger, Kimberly Young, 39, died at the scene of the crash. Patricia Collins, 36, was pronounced dead on Sunday, May 17 at UPMC Presbyterian. The Middlesex Township police department announced the death of a 36-year old woman after she succumbed to her injuries after the vehicle she was in crashed into a convenience store this past weekend.
