Then I realized there were possibly some realism mods out there for it. Played the demo, and admittedly its a very fun game, but it's all just arcade nonsense. Is the release game better/updated and are there any good mods for it?Ĭompany of Heroes I never bought because it's not realism, but a total arcade experience (guys take 50-100 rounds before dropping, tanks all drive right up to each other and shoot down "health bars," instead of actually penetrating armor, spawning new men from thin air, etc, etc, etc). Forgot I had done that and downloaded the demo again the other night - badly dated graphics and the unbelievably bad voice acting killed it for me again.
I tried the Men of War demo a few years ago because of some rave reviews about its realism, but the controls were funky and it was hard to get into with the wretched voice acting. Old Close Combat lover here (A Bridge too far, Wacht Am Rein, Russian Front, pretty much all of them), so I want realism.
